WELCOME TO UNREAL DESTINATIONS, A
COLLECTION OF LINKS TO 3D AND 2D VIRTUAL WORLDS
3D worlds are interactive environments where the visitor is represented
by a 2D or 3D avatar. The avatar provides a first person viewpoint as it moves
through graphical space with objects being seen as they come into view.
The avatar provides a third person viewpoint and each scene is fully realized as it is entered. Well known and not so well known 3D/2D worlds are listed here and worlds in
languages other than English. To translate, the AltaVista Toolbar and Google Translate were used.
There are also 3D/2D worlds and chats you can put on your own website, games,
software, graphics and miscelleny. The worlds and software listed on this site are free to use.
You'll need to have Shockwave , Flash and Java to view a number of the chats/games listed.
Many 3D worlds here are VRML. The recommended browser plugin to view
VRML worlds is blaxxun's Contact. Download Contact V.5.3 from blaxxun here .
There are also some Bitmanagement Software VRML and X3D worlds which can
only be viewed with the BS Contact VRML/X3D plugin. For information, see the

With Free-Java-3D-Chat, by Ralf Rosenkranz (Voltax),
anyone with a website can have their own 3D chat world.
The site is in German but it is not necessary you speak German.
Visit The Demo World
When page opens, click on the red START LOGIN button.
Enter world as a Guest. Any nickname is o.k. for visiting.
The chat will take a while to load.
If files load but all you see is a grey screen, you may need to update your Java:

who has been missing for the past twelve years. Meeting new friends and companions along
the way, Acheron learns that the world is not quite the peaceful place he believed it to be.
The story has 5 volumes , each with 5 chapters.
Fans are translating the Inverloch story into Finnish, Spanish and other languages.

"The Endless Forest is a multiplayer online game and social screensaver, a virtual place
where you can play with your friends. When your computer goes to sleep you appear as
a deer in this magical place. There are no goals to achieve or rules to follow. Just run through
the forest and see what happens. You are a stag, a male deer. So are the other players. You
meet each other in an endless forest on the internet. The setting is idyllic, the atmosphere
peaceful. You communicate with one another through sounds and body language."
The Endless Forest can be a regular application on your desktop to use anytime, or a
screensaver
which appears when your computer is inactive. Version 3.1 of The Endless Forest contains
both the screensaver and program. For screensaver mode only, download an earlier version.
